On Tuesday evening, Obama said goodbye to the American people, the American people said good riddance even though his official last day isn’t until January 20, 2017, on Inauguration Day.
During President Obama’s farewell address in Chicago on Tuesday, the crowd let Obama know just how they felt when they booed when the president said, “In ten days, the world will witness a hallmark of our democracy.”
The crowd then started booing, and the president responded, “No, no, no, no.” He continued, “The peaceful transfer of power from one freely elected president to the next.” A line that drew cheers and applause from the crowd.
The president’s final primetime speech to the public is generally an opportunity for the outgoing POTUS to impart his last words of wisdom and advice to the people who voted him into office — and to those that who did not as well. As usual, Obama’s narcissism got in the way. Despite repeated promises and lip service regarding a smooth transition into the next administration where Obama stated that he is committed to a smooth transition just as President Bush did for him, his actions tell an altogether different story.
In his speech Obama stated –
“If we decline to invest in the children of immigrants, just because they don’t look like us, we diminish the prospects of our own children — because those brown kids will represent a larger and larger share of America’s workforce.“
He again proceeded to lecture Americans about their prejudicial and discriminatory ways. He also threw down the gauntlet issuing a warning for incoming President-elect Trump, telling him as president, Trump will have to face “those brown kids” and Americans of all kinds of backgrounds.
Then Obama began scolding Trump and others so-called one percenters describing how “the wealthy withdraw further into their private enclaves.” Many in the Mainstream Media drawing correlations with Trump and his jaunts away from New York City and the political circuit to his Floridian retreat at Mar-a-Lago.

Obama also scolded Trump on climate change making the snarky comment that “Science and reason matter. Denying the problem betrays future generations.” There was a lot of talk about political division, threats to American democracy, race relations, “fear of change” and autocratic rule, “selective sorting of the facts,” social media, the climate change debate, “discrimination against Muslim Americans,” respecting immigrants, and “arguing with strangers on the Internet.”
Like many Americans, I am counting down the days, hours, and minutes until Inauguration Day and the wannabe boy king takes his toys and goes home. Those moving trucks will be the most welcome sight on Pennsylvania Avenue that many Americans have seen in eight very long years. Not much longer now….
TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
