A group of Virginia feminazis demanded residents boycott the Wegmans grocery chain in the Richmond area, but their plans completely backfired in their faces.
The Prince William County’s National Organization for Women chapter called for a boycott of the store upon learning it carried products from the Trump winery, which was purchased by the president in 2011 after a foreclosure. But according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, once residents in the area learned of the planned boycott, they rallied behind their new president to show support…and show their support they did.
As a result of the influx of shoppers, Wegmans has sold out of all or most of their Trump Winery products in eight of their Virginia locations. Sales of the wines increased so much in the past week that even the store’s backup inventory has been completely depleted, and that’s not all.
Apparently, the products are backordered and are going to take another 3-5 weeks before any more can be delivered.
So much for a boycott, eh?
When asked about the 300 or so feminists who were trying to pressure the store into dropping Trump’s products, the chain’s vice president of media relations Jo Natale had the following to say:
“Our role as a retailer is to offer choice to our customers. For various reasons, we are sometimes asked to stop selling a product. Our response is always the same, no matter the product: How a product performs is our single measure for what stays on our shelves and what goes. Individual shoppers who feel strongly about an issue can demonstrate their convictions by refusing to buy a product. When enough people do the same, and sales of a product drop precipitously, we stop selling that product in favor of one that’s in greater demand.”
I think it’s safe to say that despite the feminists’ demands, the store won’t be dropping Trump Winery products any time soon.
TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
