As usual, Obama never lets a good tragedy go to waste, using it as an opportunity to bring attention to himself and how great he thinks he is. Hurricane Harvey is no exception.

In an effort to maintain relevance, Obama decides to insert himself into the disaster relief, behaving as though he is still Commander in Chief, “thanking” people for their efforts during the storm. It seems that attention would have been appreciated by the good folks of Baton Rouge when they were being flooded while he was actually president, except he was too busy golfing to be bothered.

His lefty loony band of sycophants were there to stroke Obama’s massive ego, telling him just how wonderful he is.  Meanwhile, here on earth? The rest of us know better.

In spite of Obama and his incessant jabbering and ego stroking, the American people are rising up as they always do to help their neighbors.  When devastating hurricanes hit the Gulf, especially the good folks of Louisiana, the folks of Texas have been ready and willing to lend a hand.  Now that Texas is on the receiving end and suffering at the hands of Hurricane Harvey, Louisiana and other parts of the South are rising up to help their fallen neighbor.

The “Cajun Navy” has been resurrected to come to the aide of Texans in needs and these heroes are determined to lend a hand where needed and save as many lives as they can in the process.

They are truly the epitome of the American spirit. Louisianans have a long memory and they definitely remember the many natural disasters that have struck their home from hurricanes, floods, tropical storms, and other acts of nature, Texans have come to the aid of their Eastern neighbors time and time again.

Now Louisianans are glad to repay that kindness with folks from around Baton Rouge, Lafayette and other parts of the state with members of the Cajun Navy springing into action to help folks in need. Many of these folks spent last August helping wading around south Louisiana’s floodwaters in boats to help the good folks of Baton Rouge as they were dealing with the effects of massive floods. Now they are packing up their boats and headed west to help rescue Texans caught in the floods.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards also reached out and activated a search-and-rescue team with 10 agents, 10 trucks and 10 boats from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to help in eastern Texas, and has two other teams on standby. Their own state is not yet out of the woods, as the state will remain in Harvey’s path for the next week. Yet they are still willing, ready, and able to lend a hand, unlike Obama who inserts himself via tweet just to have his ego stroked about how great he is.

Estimated rainfall throughout the next week is projected to reach double digits across much of the southern portion of Louisiana and Texas.

Edwards stated of the efforts of the Cajun Navy and the state of Louisiana –

“Nearly 12 years ago, Texans opened their doors to the people of Louisiana when Hurricane Katrina devastated our state. In 2016, Texas Taskforce 1 was dispatched to our state to provide support during the historic floods. We will do nothing less to support to the people of Texas in any way that we can as they respond and recover from Hurricane Harvey.”

One amazing thing about most Americans is when the chips are down for a some of us, many good people rally to the cause, pitching in wherever and whenever necessary. That is exactly what the rest of America is doing for the people of Houston as they are being beaten down and battered by record amounts of rain and flooding.

Even companies are pitching in to help. Anheuser-Busch Brewery stopped bottling beer this week to bottle drinking water to ship to areas hard hit by Hurricane Harvey. The company has packed up more than 50,000 cans of emergency drinking water were packed up to be sent to families who may not have safe drinking water in the storm’s aftermath. The water will be used at Red Cross shelters and distributed by volunteers.

Sarah Schilling, Brewmaster, Anheuser-Busch Cartersville Brewery said in a statement –

“Throughout the year, we periodically pause beer production at our Cartersville, Georgia brewery to produce emergency canned drinking water so we are ready to help out communities across the country in times of crisis. Putting our production and logistics strengths to work by providing safe, clean drinking water is the best way we can help in these situations.”

Despite an egomaniac power hungry political despot attempting to make this situation about him, the American spirit is prevailing due to the likes of the Cajun Navy and good people across the South and across America. This is why America is great!
